Companies with a total energy usage above £500,000 per annum who do not register by April, face an initial fixed fine and a daily penalty for late reporting.

The new Part L building regulations also come into force in 2010, which have a requirement to use more efficient lighting products than the present regulations specify, to meet the new energy usage per m2 regulations.

The good news is there are several schemes provided by the Carbon Trust to enable consumers to benefit from the financial incentives to reduce energy usage and their CO2 emissions. What’s more, 79’s Electrical and Energy Team is positioned to help clients to not only comply with the new regulations, but also benefit from the Carbon Trust’s Enhanced Capital Allowance scheme [ECA] which, subject to application approval and scheme compliance, can provide up to 28% of the project’s cost.

Here’s where 79 can help:

  1. Detailed site surveys and energy reports.
  2. Energy efficiency evaluations for its designs including lamp life and applications. 79 has qualified Part L energy supervisors who can sign off designs and installations under the regulations and prepare documentation for the Carbon Trust’s initiatives.
  3. 79’s lighting products are Enhanced Capital Allowance compliant.
  4. Standard and specialist NIC EIC electrical installations and certification.
  5. Lighting upgrade installations including energy-saving initiatives, which meet the requirements of the Carbon Trust’s support schemes.
  6. 79’s Design and Engineering Services are underwritten by the company’s PID insurance.

The combination of our services has delivered project and energy savings of between 15-30% for clients. Please contact us to find our more about how we can help save you money on your next project.
