The Brief
Separation works of a large home and garden centre to restructure existing store into 2. Store to remain operational during works.
Our Approach
Our team surveyed site and worked with the client on relocation of mains and till points which spanned over the 2 buildings. We had to coordinate with client team and the POW to determine how to phase the sequence of works.
The Solution
The building needed be separated into 2 units so the main focus of the brief was to split the mechanical, electrical and public health services and cap off the gas. All mains had to be redirected to what would become the client’s unit and install new till points and fuse boards. Our team installed the following services to the newly built staff offices, utility block and WC’s;
- lighting
- power
- data
- HVAC
- plumbing
- fire alarms
The garden centre at the rear of unit also required separation so included in our scope was the installation of containment around the perimeter to house the security cables. The store had to remain open to customers so all of the works took place out of hours over a robust 4 week programme.
