Regus Express, Heathrow Aiport T3

The Brief

Global workspace provider Regus wanted to open a third Regus Express location at London Heathrow Airport. The new Regus Express facility is located in Terminal 3 (T3) and is in addition to the existing work spaces in terminals 5 and 2.  

The new 5,000ft2 T3 facility is located pre-security and houses 12 meeting rooms of various sizes, as well as a drop-in business lounge offering ergonomic seating, free wi-fi, shower facilities and complimentary refreshments.

This is the latest milestone in the rollout of the Regus Express format, which provides professional workspaces and office facilities at key transport hubs including airports.

This project is what we like doing best, the full remit of design, supply and installation of combined services, it is what The 79group excel at and is what sets us apart.  MEP services are a vital and complicated element of any project, our teams work closely with the client to ensure we meet their design brief and help them to deliver their strategy which is "to expand their network and offer their members areas to work flexibly and productively, when and where it suits them". 

To fulfill the clients brief and end vision, we designed a full MEP scheme in conjunction with Regus and Heathrow Aiport design guides. We possess a good understanding of Heathrow Health and Safety Policy gained with projects delivered in T2 and T3 (our teams carried out full MEP on Regus Express, T2).  Our designers collaborate with the client applying their knowledge of Airport's and work spaces to produce an effective, sustainable design.

The Solution

It is always imperative, when working in an Airport, to understand the purpose of the Airport and working in tandem with the Airport's operational team.  To this end, building open and regular communication with the teams sets the foundation to delivering a project that meets the clients expectations.  Prior to the project commencing we ensure all staff have the correct permits and have attended all necessary training courses and inductions. Teams have to work in restricted areas of access and within close proximity to passengers and Airport Staff so need to be efficient. Further challenges Airport's present are limited opportunity for material deliveries.  The PM co-ordinates meticulously to ensure these challenges are overcome with ease. Our engineers installed full MEP services including electrical, mechanical and public health systems including air conditioning, ventilation, heat cooling, data and fire alarms.
