The Brief
79group were awarded the MEP installation package for the new Under Armour store including an academy in the reinvented Battersea Power Station totalling 502 sqm in retail space.
Our Approach
As a fully designed project, we collaborated with the principal contractor to understand the client’s brief and vision. With the new concept store located within the recently renovated Battersea Power Station retail, our team led by senior Project Manager Paul Davies familiarised themselves with the building services infrastructure and centre requirements.
The Solution
Our scope of works to the shop floor, back of house and the next level training academy (which accounts for 150sqm of the total space) included installation of;
- Bespoke designed lighting layout,
- Power and data
- Fire alarms
- PAVA System
- Ventilation including biddle fan coil units and
- Chilled LTHW systems.
- Plumbing to the coffee bar
Offering a combined installation ensures co-ordination of services negating any compromises which can contribute to programme delays and incurrence of costs. Having one PM overseeing all services and delivery streamlines the process for both our clients and onsite teams. This was the second project we have delivered MEP services for within Battersea Power Station with the same PM for both. Understanding of the stations building infrastructure and complexities enhanced the smooth delivery of this project.
